Willow
Have you ever tried weaving with willow? Using the whippy twigs from this water-loving tree, humans have been creating useful and beautiful things since ancient times. There is a lifetime's learning to be had working with this versatile material, but there are also many easy projects that allow a beginner to create something they can feel proud of - a decorative sculpture for your wall or garden, a bird feeder, or a simple frame basket ideal for taking on foraging adventures.
It’s a perfect activity for groups to do together with a private booking, indoors or outdoors, with no mess. Whether a birthday gathering, a hen do, a corporate event or a friends’ get-together, Catkin & Conker attends your venue with all the tools and willow you will need to learn something new, create something lovely, and have a lot of fun.
Private workshops are usually suitable for up to 6 people, to suit most spaces and to ensure that everyone gets the input they need to enjoy the creative process and make something they are happy with. Larger groups are possible, so do get in touch with your ideas.
Price guidance
Sessions have a minimum charge which includes up to 4 participants. Additional participants can be added at a per person charge. These vary with the time needed for your chosen project and the amount of willow resource we’ll need - as a guide, swallows take around 1.5 hours with a minimum charge of £90 for 4 people and additional participants at £20 each; frame baskets take around 4 hours with a minimum charge of £180 and additional participants at £45 each.
